Half of the cost of the Custom Canvas Carpet is required to begin the design process and the other half is due upon completion of the canvas and prior to shipping.

You are ordering a piece of custom artwork. It is made just for you. As with any custom artwork, your input is a very desirable part of the entire design process. The size, shape, colors, look, feel and incredible result cannot be a truly custom work without your input. I want you involved in the process. Of course, if you would prefer or are not artfully inclined, I will be happy to produce designs to fit your space. If you have a wallpaper sample, fabric swatch, picture from a magazine, paint chips, tile samples or other items that contain the colors you would like to appear in your floor cloth, those will be helpful. Photographs of the location where your cloth will go are also a help during the design process. I can come to your location, or we may communicate by email and picture files. If distance precludes me from visiting your site, measurements will be needed to create your design.

Newspapers laid out on the floor area to be covered can be helpful in determining your size. Tape them together in the approximate shape you are looking for. Then lay the paper pattern on the area you wish to cover, adjust as needed until you have the size that looks right for your space, and measure. For a dining area floor cloth, be sure to leave enough space for the chairs to move back and forth easily.
When we agree on a size and design direction, I will create a few sketches for your input or approval. There is no charge for this step, so long as an order has been received with the 50% down payment. For those of you who do not know if you want to commit to a floor cloth, renderings for design ideas will incur a fee. This fee is dependent on the size of the floor cloth and the complexity of the design, and will be discussed in advance. Should you then decide you want a floor cloth, the fee will be deducted from the price of the project.
Custom orders can take from two to six weeks to produce, depending on size and complexity of the design. Each floor cloth is individually hand crafted and hand painted in a process that takes several days, if not several weeks. I use only high quality artists' acrylic and latex paints and top quality artists' canvas. Although modern paints and finishes have faster drying times than the original “oylcloth” production, paint dry and cure rates will vary with the number of layers, as well as other factors, such as heat and humidity during the production process. I want you to have a beautiful and long-lasting heirloom piece of art. Essential to that is a properly cured floor cloth.

Custom Designs are $10.00 to $35.00 per sq ft depending upon complexity. There is a $100.00 minimum fee. To determine the base cost, multiply the width in feet by the length in feet. For example, a simple 4’x 5’ Custom Canvas Carpet would be twenty square feet and start at $200.00. The more complex carpet of the same size would cost $700.00. Most will fall somewhere in between. A final determination of square foot pricing will be made upon design approval. For circular or oval floor cloths, the measurement will be made by the same method. A 4’ round will be priced as a 4’x4’, a 3’ x 6’ oval would be priced as 18 square feet. Odd shapes will be custom quoted.

Shipping will be by standard UPS Ground or Freight rates, depending upon shipping destination, finished size and weight. I will quote shipping with your order.

There are no refunds or exchanges on custom orders. Please be as clear as possible about what you want up front to prevent any problems.
